The idea behind this project was simple: design and build a home specifically optimized for the short-term rental market. The goal was to create a property that was cost-effective to build, low maintenance, and highly energy efficient, while still maximizing the guest experience. Every aspect of the design was carefully considered to create a space that was comfortable, functional, inviting, and relaxing.
Rather than simply building a house and adapting it for short-term rental use, we approached the project from the perspective of the guest. The layout, finishes, storage, lighting, and use of space were all designed with the goal of making the home easy to use and enjoyable to stay in, while also keeping long-term operating and maintenance costs low.
The finished home provides 1,344 square feet of thoughtfully designed living space, with two bedrooms and one full bathroom. The layout includes a full kitchen, a large bathroom with in-unit laundry, comfortable bedrooms, and generous open living areas that provide plenty of room for guests to relax, gather, and spend time with family and friends.
The result has exceeded our expectations. With nearly 200 five-star reviews on Airbnb, guests have consistently complimented the home's layout, functionality, comfort, and overall flow. That feedback gives us confidence that the original goal of creating a short-term rental that performs well while providing an exceptional guest experience was successfully achieved.
